There’s not to much to do in Red Hook, besides wander, eat and drink. These are three of my favorite things, so, perfect! A good destination for your walk would be to head down Van Brunt Street, the main Red Hook thoroughfare, to the water. The footpath continues to the right behind the Fairway and there’s a nice place to sit and enjoy the view. If you continue to walk along the water, you’ll hit the Waterfront Museum, a tiny museum located on an original 1914 LeHigh Valley barge. Sometimes it’s open, sometimes it’s not, but if it is, take a moment to hop the gangplank and explore their collection of maritime bric-a-brac. If you instead head to the left, you can walk along the pier and pass former warehouses-turned-artist studio’s.
